Please tax my gas

Every time I read an article by Friedman I think that he should be president. Anyways, check out this out. He sums up why we really should have an increase in the gas tax, and not just a few cents but a few dollars.

Few of the benefits:

• Will keep demand down
  • Less CO2 emissions
  • Forces auto manufactures to produce small fuel efficient cars
  • Less money goes to the middle east and “petro-dictators”
• More money goes to the US government, which can be put towards reducing the income tax, the stimulus, or the bailouts
